Have my 335 at a tech right now to get the pots changed and wanted a system so that I could swap pickups without removing the pots. Basically have wires in place from the pots that meet at the pickup cavity and connect there. Tech is having a hard time figuring a solution and I'm looking for ideas. Didn't want to go the mini-molex connector route as I don't want to bother putting them on new pickups, especially if they're old school braid leads. So probably a soldered connection. Could some small tag strip be used inside the pickup cavity, what shielding or RF issues might arise with a soldered connection? Once keeper pickups are found their leads would shortened to a few inches long to cut down excessive length.

You can use 9v connectors, but I usually crimp and solder on those car audio butt connectors if I want to make a solderless setup.

What's a car audio butt connector?

Sorry, that was a misnomer on my part. It's not a butt connector (although I do use those in automobile wiring). I've used ring terminals and flanged/spade style connectors without a problem. Here is what I'm referring to:

These look interesting. Crimp the wire to the pots into one end as a permanent connection then solder to the ring/spade from the pickup.

Your best bet would be one of the little squeeze connectors, something like these. You can get them at Home Depot.

It's funny I use these at work all the time for phone wiring, we call them scotch locks. I wonder how it would work with single conductor, braided wire though like on a Gibson PU. Problem is thought to connect a new pickup I need to cut them off and start over so the wire to the pots gets shortened.
