Guitar tone/amp on Laura Branigan's "Hot Night"?

G'day everyone, this is my first post here.

I'm sure it's Steve Lukather (sp?) or Mike Landau playing the rhythm guitar in this song, Hot Night, sung by Laura Branigan back in 1984. I think it is also in the film Ghostbusters.
I am not too familiar with what they used at the time though.

I am trying to work out what amplifier/s it is.

Please help me.

All I can tell is the preamp gain is cranked a bit. Sounds a little fizzy to me, maybe even a little mushy, but yet it is YouTube video audio quality.
It might be mid-scooped a bit too. I guess it could be an early Mesa/Boogie MarkIIA with the 5-band EQ? I don't know, but somehow it doesn't seem like a Marshall.

Please watch the video clip. Laura appeared on some show called "Automan". The video starts off with her singing "Glooorriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! GLORIA!" (lol), and then the nerdy Ken Doll bloke steps in to play guitar, since the other one cancelled.

Take particular notice at 4:05, this is where you can better hear the guitar tone.
I have made a screencapture of the particular moment where the nerdy Ken Doll bloke slams the chords on that corny "futuristic" axe.

Thanks in advance,
Pete.
