Just sort of stumbled into Guitar TV sponsored by Steve Vai and Boss. Next Thursday Steve Stevens will be presenting the Boss Guitar Synthesizer in a specially prepared presentation at Guitar Center Hollywood, Thursday November 8
Starts at 7pm Pacific time.
Steve has programmed effects and sounds into his Roland GR 55 guitar synth. The show will be streamed live on Guitar TV which I strongly advise to join for free if you are not already a member

Cool.

I haven't used a synth in 10 years. Use to have fun with them. Maybe I'll sneak down to Hollywood Thurs. :)

Steve Stevens picked up a Roland Guitar Synth, the early actual built into the guitar version back in the eighties.
Here he is on the 1987 Whiplash Smile tour, where at the Philadelphia gig is where I first saw SS/Idol:

I tried a Godin Multiac ACS SA nylon string through a Roland GR-20 and that was incredible enough, I can only imagine the power of the GR-55!

This was at Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center in Md. back in '08, the Godin with it's hex connection for the synth was incredible, simply awe inspiring to recreate all sorts of instruments with the guitar and huge flexibility.

I actually had one of them Roland guitar synths. It came with a huge floor synth module with pedals all over it. It must have been like 2 by 3 feet. I got it for $300.00 in "88. I sold it in 1992 for $150. I did not like the sounds or how the guitar played. I totally forgot I even owned one. I really had no idea hot to operate the thing. I just bought from someone desperate for cash.

I use to rock the SWRs as well. Ah, the good old days...
