ok i know these are a love hate relationship, with the relationship being mostly hate, but i was curious for those that do use wall hangers, which ones are yall using ?? i have a few guitars i am wanting to get off the ground and hung up since they are more or less show pieces rather than players anyways. i already have the studs mapped out on the walls, i just need to find which hangers to hangers to use ...

The Hercules-ones. Not sure why, though. Rumors has it that the Hercules ones tends to fail , but my wallhangers are basicly storage for guitars I'm not using alot AT THE MOMENT, so they don't see much action.

My g.f. has been using 3, String Swing hangers with 2 electric guitars and 1 Acoustic for the last 6 years without a single issue..

The only thing is I did not use the screws that came with them, I used Stainless 2 1/2 inch #10's instead for reliability and longevity...

The Off the Wall hangers are the best regular-style ones I've seen for sale.

I've been using Hercules hangers with the wood base for probably 4-5 years, and never had a problem. I wouldn't even look at another brand.

I concur with Off the Wall brand. I have a dozen of them and they work great. I picked them for the added support of using 3 mounting bolts vs two :)

Grip studios   http://guitargrip.com/

Actually they look pretty cool but I wouldn't buy another because I don't feel safe with it (I rarely use it and only it only holds my cheap stuff). I have one of the early models with felt. I see that the new models have rubber but not sure if it would hold any better.

I won a Pennywise at a guitar show. Never used it but it looks cool.

I've been wanting to hang my guitars on the wall for 10 years but always got too cheap to spend the $10 or whatever it was at the time. Finally I bought one of the cheap Fretrest ones at GC. I think it was $14. I don't know why I waited so long. SOOOO much more convenient. Went back and bought two more. I have no problems with them and would trust them to hold any price instrument. I did use bigger, longer screws though.

I've been using string swing ones for 10 years+ and they've always been rock solid, no issues.

Hercules. I swap out the screws that come with 'em and use longer wood screws - find a stud - screw 'em in - no way they'd fail. I like the locking mechanism on 'em too, as well as the fact they swivel, so the ax always hangs straight regardless of the shape of the headstock.

I use the Hercules ones for my guitars with angled headstocks and String Swing for my non angled Fenders. That way they are more flush to the wall.

the hercules hangers are the ones i think i am going with. the wooden base hangers, and i am gonna add longer screws. both the guitars i am gonna hang on the wall have angled headstocks as well, and these seem to be a good fit, and i like the locking mechanism on them as well ...

I'd look for some dealers here on RT, could probably save a decent amount of money if you're buying a few of them. PM Brad, I know he just bought a few from a member on here who's also a dealer, I just can't remember who

Been using these from K&M for years without any problems:

Off the Wall brand is the best IMHO.

The problem with the Hercules is how far they hold the instrument out from the wall. When you start hanging 6-12 guitars on the walls of one room, having a hanger that holds them tight against the wall helps the room not feel so small.

String swing
Been thru several earthquakes
No problemos 5 guitars, 5 years

I've used the Fender brand hangers and also tool hangers I got for .79 cents from Home Depot. Both work equally well...

string swings here. no problems no issues. and ive had some heavy ass guitars up there and have used them as OH SHIT DRUNK handles a few times before with no issues either.
