If the bid history shows the same user bidding a few times in a row, is that someone just trying to bid up the price?

Are you logged into your account when you're looking at the bidding history ?

I don't know if I'd say that several bids on an item would indicate that someone is pushing up the price, they may just not be all that savvy with the bidding process. But, seeing the same person bidding on the same seller's auctions all the time (especially if they don't win or the item gets relisted after they do win), could be an indication of shill bidding.

On Ebay, you are able (or used to be able) to see a bidder's bid history with a particular seller. It's been a minute since I've been on Gunbroker so I don't know if they have the same feature.

But speaking of shill bidders... There was an Ebay seller out in California (top40powertrio) that was a colossal shill bidder, using three or four shill accounts to bid up his stuff every week. Looking at the shill accounts he was using, they had 100% bid history with this guy and would actually win some of the auctions because the guy would get too greedy. Of course, these items would immediately show back up for sale. I reported the dude to Ebay many times, and they did nothing for the longest time but it finally looks like they restricted him to only selling under "Buy it now" because he hasn't listed an auction in years.
