You're not allowed to try this without an Axe-Fx. :gethim:

That was cool I could hear some vibe of each guy he was imitating...but Gilmour he wasn't even close. Gotta give Gilmour some credit for that, hard to copy that man.

Didn't care for the tones. They were weak, but it was still VERY cool!

He should have included himself and shown us some Guthrie Style.

Amzing!! Everyone cept Hendrix to my ears...he started Hendrix a little too shreddy...but the vibrato was there later in...got to give it to him! What a treat though...I liked the satch and Paul Gilbert runs...didn't hear any buckethead though...

I don't think Guthrie could play that stale
He's have absolutely no problem at all on a technical level.

Guthrie really is incredible but his Jimi was awful. In tone and execution. I love me some VH, but to me Hendrix is the greatest. Does make me wonder what is Guthrie's style?

Plus he didn't do Brian May or Angus. I know most shredders probably enjoy but not necessarily respect Angus.

The key with this video is watch it once, then listen to it a second time without watching. You can pick up on the styles.

To me it sounds like the other players are playing in the style of Guthrie.

I imagine Guthrie has huge respect for Angus. He isn't just your normal tunnel-visioned shredder at all.

Guthrie's a great ,expressive player and really versatile.

But especially back in the 70s and 80s, I used to hear and had a friend who could do this alarmingly well, guys who were in really really good cover bands who could not only imitate the tones but a lot of the feel of the guitarists in each tune they were playing, then add their own spin or NOT.Or play the classic solos and parts note for note perfect- all night.

There's probably guys on here that do it. I hate you ( just kidding but I am really impressed- I think some guys who do this get better than the original guys they're emulating).

But even as an advanced player- I'm amazed when I hear a guy go from Van Halen to B.B king, to Journey, to Lynrd Skynrd, to Hendrix,to Pink Floyd etc. and really nail everything(!)

As great as Guthrie is I've heard some great unknown guys do this jaw droppingly well ONSTAGE-unsung guitar heroes, kind of.
