Guy wanting to trade me his Les Paul...gimme some insight please

I've got a local'ish guy wanting to trade me a Les Paul for my 1987x reissue with 1960tv cab with English made greenbacks which I have listed on here.

The guitar looks great from the photos, but want to get a little bit of an idea on value from you guys, so in case I just don't click with it after a few months if I swap him, I'd know what I could likely get for it.

Anyways, here are the specs: a 50s Les Paul solid body made in 2013, he calls it a rare quilt and flame top, but looks like just a unique looking curly maple to me. It has Brandonwound t tops with Emerson bumblebee cap(s) and Kluson tuners. It also has a Faber bridge and tailpiece, pointers (I assume he means those things under the knobs) with a new pickguard and 90s pink lined Gibson case.

I'm more of a 60s LP neck kinda guy, but I haven't played a 50s style neck in so long I don't know if I like them or not. I don't remember NOT liking them, I just preferred the 60s necks back when I worked at Guitar Center and played a few here and there.
 
50’s necks can be PHAT! Depends on which years tho. ‘58 is fatter that ‘59 for instance so it depends on which 50’s neck shape it is.
 
Doing a little research, it appears in 2013 they had the 50s Decade series which is definitely isn't one of those, and the Standards would have had the figured maple tops with a 50s option best I can tell. So I guess it's just a 2013 Standard that's been hotrodded a little.
 
Could be a Traditional with some add ons too maybe? My wine red Trad Pro from 2014 has a pretty killer top on it.

If it’s not a Norlin you’re losing big. He’d owe you another $700 or so for the cab alone. Marshall’s right now are nuts used - even reissues for some reason. Les pauls, except for the vintage which always keep their value, aren’t any higher than normal.

This is all besides the fact that 50’s necks are big and if you’re not playing the exact guitar, you’re taking a chance on hating it just based on the neck profile alone.
 
Big difference between a 60s profile and any 50s not named 59...all baseball bat-like to me. 59s are almost perfect but I also prefer a 60s slim best. If it's anything other than a 59 profile I'd pass.
 
Unless you know what you're getting, it would be a hard pass for me. Get more info. Post some pics.

Generally if you own a weird or limited edition Les Paul you're all too eager to tell the details
 
I wouldn’t do it like others said above. 2013 was not exactly the greatest era for LP’s or any Gibson really. I personally wouldn’t get a Gibson between ‘09 and ‘19 but that’s just me.
 
He never wrote back with where he lived, more info/pics, etc. He did write back this morning just telling me about him growing up playing thin necks on Charvels and such but got better playing on thicker necks, but no actual useful info I cared about. I've moved on, though it was a good looking guitar.
