Ive been GAS'ing for one real bad lately. Love Jeff Waters' tone and the idea of the midi capable programmable presets. Looks really sweet!

Metalaxe on HCAF made some clips of one for the website. The amp sounds fucking incredible. Really surprised me, how good it sounded. Stupid ass name though lol.

Yeah, one of the worst names ever. But neat amp. I wouldn't mind trying one, but it's a bit rich for my blood.

Yeah, it is pretty pricey. I probably would never buy a new one, but if I could find a deal on a used one, Id get it.

I don't understand what's to "WTF" about...? Hughes & Kettner make killer amps, that are stupid overbuilt. The fact that you can push all of your presets to a flash drive makes alot of since for touring pros who don't want to ship amps from the US to Europe and back. Knowing that you can back up your setting incase something does happen to your rig is kind of nice, when you think about it. While I'm not the target market for the Coreblade, I wouldn't mid having a Switchblade to go with my TriAmp.

Greetings :)
I don't get it, either...
H&K makes some great equipment that deserves more consideration and less snubbing - IMHO. I'm probably starting to sound like I work for them (I don't), but I love my Switchblade. It's well-built, versatile, sounds great - both clean and dirty, and it is stupid loud. In fact, that's my only real complaint; the volume goes from barely audible to "sterilization of small animals" level (to borrow a phrase) with an almost imperceptible rotation of the volume knob. There have been a couple for sale on here for quite some time with no interest. Strange that they get so little love. Could be that their unique tone doesn't suit the metal and brutal stuff that a lot of people on this forum seem to favor...

Bashing them for the name? Really? Deciding not to buy an amp because it's named "Coreblade" while raving about your "Hairy Brown Eye" mod seems a little ridiculous to me. It's just marketing bologna (trying to make a point, Tawlks, not looking to offend... :D )

Peace

The super touchy volume knob would drive me nuts. I would still like to try one. Alex from Rush is using one in his latest rig of amps....

The volume knob thing is my biggest complaint. It wouldn't be that big of a problem if I was playing gigs where the level would ordinarily be above the minimum, but I'm mostly playing in Madison Spare Bedroom and like to keep the volume reasonable for my own sanity. I don't know if this is the right terminology, but the volume pot seems very "exponential" instead of smoothly tapering from minimum to maximum.

Lfeson has played H&K for a long time. If I'm not mistaken, he had combinations that included the Triamp, Switchblade, ZenTera, maybe others for the 30th anniversary tour and his tone was (always is) spectacular...
