I know Jackson can make San Dimases since they currently make some production models, but they don’t have them as option on the order form. I know their custom shop has made them in the past. I don’t see why it would be such a radical thing to ask them to build me a San Dimas? I don’t really want a Charvel one. I’ve currently got a Mexican Charvel and it’s crap. Big ole thick ass heavy neck. Hard as hell to play. I like Jackson necks. I think a Jackson San Dimas would be nicer.

The order form on the website is just for the Custom Select line, basically their semi-custom line or tweaked production models. Talk to a custom shop dealer and it shouldn´t be a problem.

Jackson custom shop has been screwed up for years. Not sure the situation now, but for a long time they would not build a custom for anyone but an endorser. Us regular people can only order from the limited "select" menu of options.

Is that so? I haven´t been paying attention for years since I mostly buy used stuff, but that´s lame and the exact opposite of what Jackson should be and used to be.

Good lord dude, don’t mistake a Mexi-Charvel for a custom shop Charvel. Very different in fact not even close.
That said if you want it to say Jackson on the HS it’s your prerogative. They are all built by the same guys btw. They’ll do whatever you wish when it comes to a custom order.
I couldn’t believe how bad the 2013 Mexican Charvel was that I picked up in a GC long ago. Terrible. Like a cheap Chinese clone of one of my 08-09 USAs.

If you can try out one of the MIM “Jack Butler” San Dimas models, DO IT. The necks on these guitars are really nice, and have more of a speed neck profile than the Charvel MIMs. I have NO complaints on the Jackson neck - it was flawless.

Wasn’t there some dude here years ago that ordered a custom Kelly and it was delivered with missing frets or something?

It makes no sense. Not sure what went wrong. I begged for years to submit as "Masterbuild" custom order that was just a copy of the guitar they'd built a few years earlier: bolt-on San Dimas 7-string. Very simple guitar, but since "7 string" was not on the Select option list, it necessitated the "Masterbuild" order.

They always said no, though the excuse varied if I recall correctly. Eventually they just said no Masterbuild orders at all.

I just ordered a few customs through Schecter and I couldn't be happier.
