So i stopped in a GC on my way home from work and they had lots of cool guitars. I played some Ernie Balls, a Luke and one of those anniversary Silo's, a couple of CHarvels, a few PRS's, and some Fenders. I was checking out a Mesa Boogie Maverick and thought to myself, "I may as well try a Les Paul".
I grabbed a Gold Top Traditional off the wall and HOLY BALLS. It just blew everything else away for fat singing leads and chunky rhythms. The Charvel i played may as well of had single coils in it because it sounded soo thin in comparison. I did play a few other LP's that sounded good, but didn't have the tone of that Traditional model. The only thing that sucked was the price tag.
A few PRS Custom 24's were of course more versatile and had some good tones of their own, but that ONE fat sound of that LP was really addictive to play on. I think I'll abandon any plans for spending dough on another Superstrat. Need to save for a PAUL.
