Has there been any changes in the Hagen since it first came?

:)

Not that I'm aware of. Just different tubes due to reliability issues.

Hagen is sick!!

I can't find a Hagen in the Atlanta area. Any words of tonal description? Where between the V and the H?

I've been a mega fan of the Diezel siggy tone of the VH4. I also liked the Herbert. But here it is, the Hagen is to me, simply awesome. It doesn't really "fit" in between the Herbert or the V or the Einstein or the Schmidt or whatever. It's a new family member. Here's my take on it - where the V was very tight and surgical in its attack, it was also replete with that one-and-only Ch.3 Diezel vibe. I loved the V. Still do. Where the Hagen excels to me is that it offers this slippery feel to it. It's got some greasiness to it. I can let the amp really have its own personality without me being heavy on the reigns. It's fun and sounds very very Deizel'esque. It's got 4 channels, the first of which is a supreme clean. Unlike anything in the Diezel lineage, but with a hint of the Herbert's pristine clean. Channel 2 isn't like the V, and certainly isn't like the Herbert. Einstein? No. It's raunchier, not compressed, really roars. Channel 3 is just off the hook. Took the Ch.3 of the V and added a LOT of playability to it. It does all "the greats" with ease - that Tool, AIC, prog metal, AAL, metal feel and more SO easily, but always holding a nice bass response, great chewy mids, and a long beautiful decay with all the 3D rubberiness metal feel of the V's Ch.3 Channel 4 is fluid man - gotta play it to understand.

Can't explain it in terms of the Herbert or the V better than what I've typed.

Your ears may vary.

That was a write up that covered some ground. I was close to buying a H, V, and S. something missing in each. Schmidt was just overpriced or I would have gotten it. I'm a cheap bastard.

The Hagen sounds interesting. I am a straight up MKIIC fan and it is my focal point tone, add evil with the Über TJ, blackface clean with the Bogner NY.

Sounds like the Hagen is a Diezel flavor to those tonal concepts.

Thx Mo. Time for grinding some beans and tossing out some peanuts. Coffee and critters for entertainment. Then some Hagen vids.

Remember....

If an ass is wide enough to wear shorts that say "Bootylicious", it probably isn't..

My pleasure dude. And furthermore, I'm not yet sold on the 77s as the new tube to take with the Hagen. Before I dive into that bottle, I'll be going with some Winged C SED EL34s to get a sense of what they can do. I've had nothing but stellar success with the =C= brand of glass in my Diezels. Expensive, yes - but what's the price for perfect tone?

As for the ass comments, the way I see it is fine back don't need advertising

Peace Braddah!!

Apparently Jens Kruse told a possible buyer of mine that the first ones sounded doll, boomy and not so responsive as the newer ones. Any truth to that?
