i know that when i do recordings of my floyd guitars, i weave tape between the springs in the rear cavity to prevent ring-out, but ive never in my life heard a ringing on the opposite side of the locking nuts, but i have read about it.

i stick a pick in the strings for safe measure, but i cant say i hear any difference

i must not being using enough gain?

I hear it often when doing fast start/stop stuff. That's why I always have foam in the trem spring cavity and at the nut.

what gauge strings are we talking about here? i've never used anything above 10's?

First = no foam on the trem springs nor at the nut.
Second = foam on the trem springs but no foam at the nut
Third = foam on the trem springs + the nut

Ignore the click. I forgot to disable it when I bounced the track.
