Happy NGD to me...but it's also a bit of a sad one

I got this Reb Beach tribute Chubtone in the mail today and it's gorgeous! All hail Chubtone! This guitar is beatiful, Javashred packed it very well and it is just so smooth. I'm sold on rosewood necks now.

On to the sad part...I'm outside quite a bit at work using my hands to pick stuff up and it's verrrrry cold up here in Maine (it's only going to get worse, so so much worse) and dammit if my middle finger tip on my left hand isn't split like it always does in the winter. I've been using Udder Cream the past week or so because I can feel my hands getting rougher and I know it's coming but to no avail, it still split today anyway :( So while I'm TRYING to learn Madalaine (gotta play Winger on my new Reb Beach inspired axe), it hurts to play.

Oh yeah, also the 9v battery died for the EMGs and I don't have any 9v batteries here lol

I was humming the solo to seventeen on the way to work recently. Super catchy riffs. Winger is hall of fame material. Criminally underrated.

Madeline is fun.
Split fingers not so much.
Congrats on your new Axe though
Does it have EMGs?

Yes sir, I can't remember if I've had a guitar with EMGs; though my USA Hamer I never should have sold I think had EMGs and maaaaaybe the ESP LTD-1000 still had them, I can't remember. You forget stuff when you get old.

Serious question - what liquids do you drink most of the time? If you drink alot of soda's, sports drinks, or energy drinks, lay off.

Drink a ton of water. My hands used to split constantly. I'd be loading my gear onstage and they'd crack open, always had to wear gloves. Tried everything even sleeping with rubber gloves on coated in creams. Doctor told me to start drinking water, so years ago I cut out everything except the occasional beer, all water. After a few months my hands healed up and 5 years later are the same. Anyway just an idea.

And congrats on the Chubtone, awaiting my second as we speak.

Well, Coke has water in it lol I do need to start drinking more water though. It's only ever this 1 fingertip that splits, I don't think any others get it and it's only on my left hand, never had the issue on my right hand and I do equal amounts, if not more work, with the right hand.

You're right and everytime I see them live they absolutely make it look effortless.

Agree 100%!

I listen to Pull often. The other albums of course; but Pull is my Fav.

"New Skin" buy it at your pharmacy.

Very similar to Superglue.
We used to keep it in stock in first aid kits at work.

Matt; is it always the same spot on the exact same finger and is it always in cold weather?

Agreed. It is all about Reb Beach. He has this perfect tone equation of fizz/fuzz/buzz and TIGHTNESS. And very tasty note choices.

I've started to drink more water myself. I have a huge Diet 7Up addiction. Water is much better, for me, in a Yeti cup with ice. I seem to like water much better when it is cold but I guess that is true with most drinks.
