Hardwire pedals vs TC Electronics pedals?

This doesn't help, but I predict they don't make you any happier than your DD-3......

The Hardwire will handle everything from -20 to +4 and beyond. It's a killer pedal and has worked flawlessly in every situation I've tested it in :-)

I emailed their tech support. Hardwire pedals can actually handle up to +6dB.

Buy one. You'll ditch the DD-3 in a heartbeat when you try the DL-8!

Strongly considering the DL-8 and RV-7

I have the Hall Of Fame and love it. THat said, the effects in my RP1000 by Digitech are fantastic as well. I think I am not just that particular in my effects as I use them sparingly

Get a DL-8 they are very nice and pretty cheap used.
Like it so much I've thought of trying the RV-7 as well.
Also have a flashback as well and its not too shabby just prefer the dl-8 and keep the flashback as a backup.

The Dl-8 is a superb unit and you can not go wrong with it.

The lo-fi setting is legit, the modulation delay is tits, and analog is nice and crisp.

As far as the digital setting go on the lower setting like .0-.5 seconds the delays dont overlap each other in that sterile digital way and they are actually more smooth than any DD3 I have played.

The transitions between repeats are as smooth as it gets when it comes to the .0-.05 seconds setting.

Not really an understated delay, and it is on alot of boards for a reason.

for delay, the TC nova repeater is now down to $120, I assume its soon to be discontinued. Great deal and has a jack for +4 and -10. I have one and really like it. Consider it if you need an external tap tempo switch, which I do.

I also have a hardwire RV-7, great reverb pedal, never tried the hall of fame though.

I wonder why the TC nova repeater is being discontinued.........

What a surprise.

(if you cant tell I am being sarcastic ;) )

I have a Flashback and like it. Haven't tried the Hardwire, but I've heard good things.

The nova repeater is a great pedal, but the flashback has pretty much replaced it in their line up.

The repeater was a cheaper, no frills version of the Nova Delay. I would much rather have a used Nova Delay than either of the two pedals in the OP. I had one and it was awesome. I sold it because I also had the Nova System, Nova Reverb, and the Nova Drive, and a ton of other effects and didn't need it at the time and could use the money. Ironically, I was in the market for a pedal delay this weekend and looked at both the Strymon El Cap and the Wampler Faux Tape Echo, and now have a Wampler. Either one would have worked.

I have the DL8 and Flashback. I find the DL8 has a higher fidelity in the fx loop and works with my SLO; otherwise it's splitting hairs.
The DL8 labeling is harder to read but I'm an old dude compared to you fetuses.

I have both on my board. I use the TC for slapback delay just to fatten up my rhythm playing and the DL8 for more lush solo or long ambient delay

If I liked the FB better I would reverse the way I am running them , but to me the DL8 is just a better sounding delay to my ears

I've had two of the HoF reverbs and I'm also now on my 2nd Hardwire reverb. The Hardwire just seems to smudge with the dry signal a bit smoother, and feels like part of the guitar sound and not just an effect sitting on top of everything. I prefer the Hardwire for this reason.

Thanks for the info everyone. Anybody else have experience with these pedals.

For me the dl8 just kills the tc stuff. Closest thing to lexicon in a pedal by far. Just juicy feeling under you fingers.
