Need some harmonizer help. Take something like the intro to Blackened by Metallica and the guitar harmonizing effect - what would you say the settings would be for the just the harmony?

Sounds like a 3rd above or a 3rd below depending on which part you are playing. Sorry, I don't know much about setting harmonizers but have been in lots of bands where we did harmony leads.

I think he harmonised them manually- ie recorded the harmonies separately then layered them together. Then reversed the lot when dubbing to the master tape for the main track.

Here it is recently transcribed. 3 guitars backwards, says arranged here for conventional guitar.
This is all of the intro solo, then it goes into the main heavy riff.
