Shredder has it in his QR and I have the Ruby BSTR's in mine (I think they're the same tubes). They're really nice tubes!
The Ruby el-34bstr tubes are shuguang tubes. The tung-sol el34b tubes are different. Tung-sol tubes are made in the same Russian plant as all the other New sensor corporation. Mullard re-issue, Svetlana's {Not winged C's], and a few more. Years back the American company New Sensor took their plans to court and BEAT Svetlana, out of the rights to their OWN NAME.

So Svetlana became winged C SED. SED stands for Svetlana Electrical devices Corporation. The C is a Russian cyrillic S......The winged C's are made in the St. Petersburg russian plant and there IS NO EQUAL IN QUALITY.....PERIOD!

But other brands are decent these days. Scott Splawn caught alot of grief over the JJ KT-77's last year and half the year before as JJ had a quality problem BIG TIME. Scott HAD to have a new tube, solid solution for this aggrivation. Enter Tung-sol el-34b's ....Russian made at the Reflecktor plant, Dependable as hell, very musical and the problems were solved. I talked to Scott about this very subject on the phone yesterday.

Funny thing about the Tung-sol tubes, Pre and power. Alot of guys all say the same thing Capulin Overdrive say's.. They sound great in some amps and not so great in others. But the price is very reasonable. I am gonna try them in something soon. But I am gonna try the pre's/ 12ax-7's 1st. Then the power tube set. Right now what I am hearing from alot of amp techs is JJ has gotten the KT-77's straightened up, but now the el-34's that JJ is sending out SUCK, problematic just like the kt-77's last year and before.

WINGED C'S FTW!!!!!!
