Having an absolute blast right now...With this amp (Marshall JVM410H) and guitar (Gibson Midtown Custom) combination. I bought this mint condition half-stack about two weeks ago at a great price and still getting to know it. Plan on doing a full review after the honey moon period drifts away: But I have to say, I feel like this amp is better (to my ears and hands) than many have reported. Super modern metal? no..not really. That said, I'm getting some really fantastic and authentic sounding Marshall mid and high gain hard rock and classic metal tones out of this thing, and it responds gloriously to this Midtown Custom guitar with a Duncan Custom in the bridge. Does the JVM 410H accurately reproduce the classic JCM 800, Plexi, Jubilee or Jose Mod tones? No...but its about 80% there in most cases and has more gain and a bit of extra compression on OD1 and OD2 that I actually really enjoy. It's a lot of amp for the money (paid well under $2,000 for the pair). More details to come.

Very pleased with my JVM410H despite the negativity of purists. It covers a lot of ground; for the ground I like most, I got the actual amps (e.g., 1959x, JCM 900 SL-X)

Awesome bro… get a Temu aby and start playing in stereo with that thing. I ran mine with my vh4 when I had it.

Never played a Midtown but have been plenty interested for a minute!
Nice set up!
Bet it sounds glorious!

Hell yeah man! I also really dig the look of that Gibson Midtown. I haven't heard much about them but I would like to check one out.

Midtown was a really popular model with all of the pop punk/emo bands I toured with back in the day after they came out.

They're, like @angelspade says, a perfect 50/50 of 335 and lp

Great for big dudes, too

Totally accurate...I'm 6"2" and 200lbs...And it "fits" me perfectly.

It really sounds good. With the Midtown and lower gain going straight into the OD1 orange I can really nail those early Buckcherry ripping Marshall tones...Pushing the gain to noon and boosting the mids lands you in that grindy Accept territory. It's a fun amp that is very different than my richer, thicker and more modern sounding boutiques (Koch / Diezel).

I always regret having not got one of those midtown’s when they were doing their first blowout on the line.

A 498t in a ES333 really barked through a plexi. Semi hollow and a marshall with a good bridge pickup is a winning tone. Very nice @angelspade . Glad to see your are getting some good play time and tone in on a nice rig!!!

Awesome. The JVM is a really cool amp. I got a used one for $800 around 2018 or so and love it. Then I got a modded 1984 JCM800 and still liked the JVM better. I sent the JCM off to Friedman and the mod ripped out and a new mod put in. It sounds great but the JVM just feels 3D sounding with a Klon type pedal in front. Fun amps, congrats!!
