It lowers the wattage of the amp. Similar to dropping it from 15w to 7w. When the amp is on 15w and you engage the bedroom switch, it goes to 1w. When the amp is on 7w and you engage the bedroom switch, it drops it to 0.5w.

What isn’t known is what the switch changes to achieve the lower power. The Half/Full power switch browns the B+.
