Helix Heavies Vol. 2 - Hypocrisy/Swedish Death Metal Tones

OK y’all, this took way too long for me to get finished. Lots of things got in the way but it’s finally here. I am pretty stoked about how this came out. My plan was to cover as wide a variety of heavy guitar tones as possible re-creating recorded tones on the line 6 helix. The intent is to show them in a full mix, and then walk through the patch and how I dialed in.

This is a patch and recording inspired by the guitar tones of Peter Tagtgren of the band Hypocrisy. A bud from the Helix FB groups threw down the vocals for the full mix since DM vocals are NOT in my wheelhouse.

Used my Schecter KM7 and Ibanez Prestige RGD3217.

Oh man, I still have a hard time believing that's my workspace. It is definitely more inspiring when I'm in there. At like 8:30pm I'll be like, "Babe, I am gonna go play for like 30 minutes..." next thing you know, I have a full session laid down, it's 3:30am and I now have about 2 hours to sleep before having to get up and get my day started! LOL!

Sounds massive. Love it.
