"The Hellatone 60L starts out as a special Vintage 30 that is only made for special manufacturers using Vintage 30s. This Special Vintage 30 has a slightly lower bass voicing and has a slightly different voice coil and center dust cap than the standard Vintage 30."

60L= darker, less breakup, more solid bass and growl than a Hella 60/V30.

isn't the hellatone 60L the 70w V30 that comes in marshalls?
70 watters are supposed to be slightly more bass heavy than the regular 60w
I've read they have 55hz cones, but I'm not sure about that

I wonder which would be best suited for a Bogner Ecstasy? Since they were voiced for V30s, do you think the L's would sound good also?

The 60L's are supposedly the V30's from the Marshall Mode 4 cabs. I have 2 of them in my Mojo 4x12. I find them to be a bit bigger and less intense in the mids than normal V30's. I have them paired up with 2 VHT P50E's at the moment and that cab easily beats every other cab that I have personally tried.

Well, the 70 watt V30's in the MF cab are the same ones in the 1960V cabs. Mesa also uses 70 watt V30's.
Not sure if these are the same as the H60L's, but I have heard that suggested as well.

The 60L only came in 1 Marshall cab - the 280W Mode Four cab. All other V30s used in Marshall cabs are closer and/or identical to the regular V30.

All V30s, including the 60L use the 55hz cone.

The L is a slight variation of a V30. Whatever sounds good w/V30s will sound good w/60Ls.

As I said above, the MF cabs featured speakers not in the 1960 series. Mesa's V30s definitely sound similar to the 60L, still a bit different though.

Oh, I was under the assumption that since the V30 loaded 1960V cabs are 280 watts as well, that they had the same speakers as the MF.
