Hello RigTalkers,
I've been lurking around the forum for a few months and now that the latest iteration of my rig is done (for now anyway), I figured I'd introduce myself and post some pics. I've really been enjoying the forum and look forward to contributing to the community in the future.
I'm located on the northside of Indianapolis. I play mostly hard rock/metal (Tool, Godsmack, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin, 5FDP, Killswitch, etc). I'm not playing in a band at the moment, just toying around with direct recording into my computer. Ok, enough about me, on to the rig....
Guitars
- Gibson Les Paul Classic
- Paul Reed Smith Custom 22
- Fender American Standard Stratocaster
- Takamine EAN10C
- Warwick Rockbass Corvette Std
Amps, Cabs, Effects
- Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier 25
- Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18
- 2 Mesa Boogie Rectifier 2x12 cabs
- TC Electronic GMajor 2
- RJM Y-Not
- Fulltone OCD
- Dunlop Jerry Cantrell Wah
- Boss NS-2 Noise Gate
- Digitech Control 8
- MXR 10 Band EQ (not currently being used)
Im running a dual amp rig in a wet/dry configuration. As noted above, I'm not playing in a band, so the lunchbox heads really work well for me. The Boogie is my dry/distorted tone with the OCD out in front and the NS-2 in the loop. The Hughes and Kettner is my wet amp with the GMajor 2 running in the effects loop and controlling channels on the Tubemiester. The RJM Y-Not really ties the whole thing together enabling me to change amps and effects with a single MIDI program change.
Distorted tones from the Boogie and the Tubemiester at the same time is pretty killer. I've never had a dual amp setup like this and I gotta admit its pretty awesome to blend the tones from the two amps. This forum helped out quite a bit in planning out my rig. So a big thank you to everyone here at RigTalk for answering all of my noob questions before hand (yes, the search function DOES work).
I know the pedal board is pretty pathetic right now. That is the next thing on my list to upgrade. Here are some pics (excuse the crappy iPhone picture quality). Cheers...
