Hey guys,
Im just planning my future guitar setup and wanted to ask you guys if my thoughts so far make sense and I also have some questions in general.
I'm thinking about a 2 amp setup, not sure yet. I will just post my layout for a 2 amp setup. If that works it would also work for just one.
The first Amp will probably be the Marsha by Dave Friedman, the 2nd I'm not sure yet, thinking in lines of Rectifier or Uberschall for Heavy Rhrythm. To simplify the whole rig I want to use a GigRig Midi-14. And there starts the part where I'm not sure about how well this would work.
I want to have the 7 bottons on the bottom to be responsible for my main tones (presets), so lets say rhythm 1, rhythm 2, Lead 1, Lead 2, Clean, Clean + Delay and so on. The 7 buttons on the top will make sure tha I can add a single Loop to the existing preset, that way I can add a Chorus to a preset without a Chorus w/o changing the whole preset permanently. Obviously I have to use a FX Loop for some effects and in that case you have to use one loop for the preamp section of an amp. Somewhere on the internet I've read that this limits you to one amp. I dont understand why! Because in that case my whole layout would not work! Doesnt it? Please enlighten me
Another thing, and I did ask Daniel from GigRig about but he did not answer, is how capable the Midi-14 is when it comes to switching the Marshe and amps in general and how this actually works (which switches to use and which cable and everything). The Marsha has a 2-button-footswitch. The first one changes between the clean and the dist. channel. The second one will change between two different Mastervolumes and gain settings (and will switch on the "Saturation" Switch).
To alle the Gigrig users and experts: How do I do that? Can the GigRig do that? And what if I use a 2 amp setup? Is this too much for the Gigrig to handle?
Here is my layout:
Hope you can give me some answers. These are some big investements and first I have to make sure that everything would work out this way!
best regards,
Timo
