Hi everyone,

This is not my first post here but I totally forgot my login data, so I'm leaving at zero.

I currently own a Wizard MCII which is a fantastic amp and I am looking for a complement, slightly different but that can be oriented in Hard Metal 90/00. A nice clean is a plus.

In the absolute the type of OD that I'm searching is close to an Atomica or a CCV that would have been perfect for me, but it is not eazy to find in second hand in europe and not not easy to trade quickly oversea.

So I try to take more informations on other amps.

Friedman butterslax: on paper it looks awesome but on some videos the sound disappointed me (dark too close to the ubershall with some kind of fuzzy side)

Friedman BE100, why not but I'm afraid that it duplicates the MCII

After it other reference that I know very little:

Henning Cherrybomb, Fortin Bones, KSR, ...

Do you have any advice? Of maybe have you try or test some models that have really impressed you lately?

Thank you for your help !

I would like to have a Cherry Bomb as well as a KSR. Lately I have been in love with the new TAPP amp prototype. If I had the money that is definitely what I would get.

If you like brutal metal and want completely different the VHT 100CL is a great option IMO and it is very crushing and fairly cheap used. But that TAPP amp demo sounded seriously amazing.

Well brutal metal, ( i mean modern heavy sound is not my grail). But If the amp can do that in addition of a more Middy Hard and heavy it s great. As I said I m more in heavy hard rock with lot of gain

I ve heard recently a YT video with an AMPETE one, which was nice too.

Do not know anything about Tap Amp.. I have to check it !

Beetween the 3 ceriatone, is one over the other two ?

Driftwood Purple Nightmare, Diezel Paul, H&K Triamp MK III, Engl Invader II

Here is the thread with a video in there viewtopic.php?f=3&t=188557&hilit=prototype

Those other suggestions are good too. I have heard amazing things about Ceriatone. If I wanted a super hot rodded plexi I would also be looking at Bray amps.

Purple nightmare looks nice. I have to compare it with butterslax or Bones

Of my amps, the Bottle Rocket would meet your needs best. Feel free to give me a call, PM me here or email me @ steve@henningamps.com if you'd like to talk about my amps.

The Ceriatone King Kong is more feature packed than the other 2, but none of them are really brutal...more hard rock.

This +1.

It's impossible to go wrong with either the VH4 or Herbert. Both should be considered.

You are in Europe? Why not go visit Diezel and try his lineup? That would be an incredible story (if possible).

I own both an MCII and a BE100, and while they are certainly different enough to have both, I'm not sure the BE100 would meet your needs in the brutal metal department. That style is right the Diezel's wheelhouse, and you are in Euope, so it seems like a no-brainer to me to at least check them out.

You being in Europe, Diezels are a lot cheaper. Go play with some and see how the feel to you.

I would think an ENGL would be a good counterpart to a Wizard. In fact Europe kind of rules the roost on what you're asking for I think. Depending on they used value in Europe o the American side, you might dig a recto. Also a 5150 (III or original would be a good choice).

Maybe a Revv Generator 120? I have one on order that will be in this week hopefully. Trying it on a whim so we will see.
