Putting a Doug Aldrich set in my Les Paul tonight and was wondering if the stock volume and tone pots would be alright. I don't know what the values are on the stock pots, but do the pickups sound better with certain pots?

I would run 500's. You may already have them, I would check and see to be sure ;)

+1 Gibson has been known to use 300k pots in the volume, tone, or both. I replaced the pots with 500ks in my LP standard when I put in the aldrich pickups, as I remember the tone pots were 300k and volume were 500k. I made the tone pot 500k push-pulls. The aldrich pickups split well, its a nice option.

The guitar is a 2011 Traditional Pro and the pots are already push pulls but I'll make sure they are 500k. Thanks!

Don't sweat it, it will still sound good with 300K pots. The Aldrich is pretty bright... higher value pots mean brighter tone btw.

Just play with pickup height to fine tune the pickup....

Make sure that the pots are 500K, and change if needed.

You are right!

But the Trad Pro has 500k pots... I measured mine.

Bridge pickup seems a tad bright so I will probably change the cap to an 047. Also they are pretty noisy. Anyone else notice that?

Nope and I have a bunch.

Mine are pretty noisey in my standard, I assumed it was just since they are high output. The Aldrich bridge in my LP custom is not as noisey. Only difference is the set in my LP standard is covered, the LP custom Aldrich is uncovered.

As far as the bridge being bright, I just roll off the tone pot a little and that does the trick. On my LP custom that guitar is so dark, that I run both tones full up.

Ditto, I also have a bunch, and none of mine are noisy. You might have a bad connection, somewhere.
