I'm ordering another 510 for another strat. The one I have has a big steel block and now I'm trying to decide if I want to buy one with the zinc block. I know zinc can get a bad rap but I've been reading good things about this particular model. The angled block gives a better string angle and also allows for more 'dive' space.

I'm torn and not sure what to do

Anyone have any experience with this? I love the 510 with the steel block but it's in a guitar with all single coils. This trem will be going in an HSS strat

Any input would be appreciated

Interested myself. Specing a build.

Perhaps you can confirm the 510 post spacing is compatible with Fender Am. Stnd?

Thanks

Yes, I bought a 510TS-FE for my American Standard and it was a drop in replacement. I did have to take a dremel and route a very small corner of the cavity where the trem bar assembly sits. Took literally a few seconds with a dremel and cannot be seen once the new bridge was set in place

I replaced the 510 with the zinc block with the steel model on my Grosh NOS Retro. I prefer the steel block, it's a little fuller sounding to me although it does have more high end which gave it a little more of a stratty tone. I don't miss the slightly limited dive range, i rarely use it for anything more than a slight effect.
