So, I am finishing up the tweaks and final touches on my new rack rig. My preamps and main FX unit are in the rack itself, and are controlled using a Rocktron Midi Mate into a Rocktron Patch Mate (rack version).

I would like to be able to get a switcher on my pedal board out front as well that will allow me to switch between a few different boost, overdrive and fuzz pedals. I need them on the floor, as I prefer to have my wah pedal come after the ODs and fuzzes and do not want to run my guitar signal all the way to my rack and then back to the pedal board to wire my wah as well.

Also, the reason the switcher needs to be midi controllable is that I want to be able to either:
1.) select a clean channel on my preamp and kick in one of the OD pedals on my pedalboard in front of it all by hitting a single midi program change command (i.e., one button!); or
2.) select a gritty channel on my preamp and kick in one of the boost pedals on my pedalboard in front of it all by hitting a single midi program change command (i.e., one button!)

I like the Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8 floor version, as it is midi controllable from an external midi controller (such as my Midi Mate), including continuous controller capability allowing you to switch the loops in and out with a single midi command. BUT, the fact of the matter is, I don't need 8 loops on my pedal board!

So....

Is there a product that is:
a.) Midi controllable from an external midi controller, similar to the Patchmate Loop 8 floor version; and
b.) Has 3 or 4 loops; and
c.) Ideally, is designed for pedal board use?

Let me know what YOU know!

Thx all!

you can do this all with a tc gsystem if im reading your post correctly. it will become your pedalboad and you can rack your pedals if you want

try gigrig.com  they might have what your looking for

Hey Man:

Not exactly what I was looking for, but perhaps a viable alternative!

I could actually use the Remote Loopy 2 on my pedalboard, with an Overdrive wired into Loop 1 and a Fuzz wired into Loop 2. I could then use a stereo 1/4" cord run from my rack-mounted Patchmate to my pedalboard to control which loops in the Remote Loopey 2 are active at any given time (this cord would not be carrying my guitar signal but, instead, only the latching switch commands from two of the Patchmate's loops/function switches). As it would ultimately be the Patchmate controlling the Remote Loopey 2, it would all effectively be midi controllable. In addition, I wouldn't have any additional signal runs to and from my rack and pedalboard. That is to say, my actual guitar signal would be:

Guitar > Remote Loopy 2 > Wah pedal > Rocktron Patchmate input on my rack

Again, sounds like a workable alternative! Thanks for the advice!

BTW: Have you ever ordered anything direct from The Gig Rig? What was your experience and where are you located? Thx!

Not sure what the consensus is here on this but the Pedal Switcher from Voodoo Lab seems pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it is actually more than I need. I don't need any function switches on the switcher, as the ideal unit I am looking for needs to be controlled by midi program change commands fed into a Midi In jack....

Bump!

Have a look at the Remote Loopy 2 above and let me know if there are any other companies that make a loop switcher like that that can be controlled similarly (i.e., via an external latching switch).

Thanks!
