After using an old intellifex in my main stereo live rig for over a decade, is seems to be having a few issues, sometimes it suddenly gets distorteds sounding or produces a whislting sound and the display gets goofy and only shows one really bright pixel. I have to turn the unit off and let it power up again for it to go away, only to have it do it over again in a few minutes. I am not sure if its the unit or the power adapter. Anyway I want to get another one.

Does anyone know the main differences between the Intellifex, the On-Line and LTD versions? perhaps even the intelliverb? I have heard that the earlier rocktron chameloens were different and better than thier newer counter parts. I am not looking for a Chameloen, I just wonder if the the later versions of the Intelli-***'s suffered the same cost cutting fate?

I chose this unit because it seems to be the most transparent stereo MultiFX that I can afford. I would be open to other suggestions as well, but a unit that doesn't color my tone is of utmost importance to me. Unfortunatly I can not afford to spend too much and I really like the fact that i can pick up another one of these used without breaking the bank

I treid a few different multiFX including the Lexicon MPX1, I really like the sound of this unit but the lag in changing patches was unacceptable in a live situation. Any help is appreciated

FYI My rig is an Egnater ie4- Intellifex- VHT 2/50/2- Bogner 4x12's in stereo

TC Electronic G Major 2!

+1 on 1 condition -

there is an effects block that causes a patch change lag on the GM2 - but the entire unit is not like that. so as long as you do not use that effect, you are fine.

plus the TC effects quality is bar none some of the best. highly recommended for budget tone go-getters.

You have to set it up right and get your levels right no change in tone!

If you can find the Intelliverb it is the best unit to get. Once I found one I got rid of my G-major, the Intelliverb is way better than any of the intellifex versions.
