I've got a black Tom Anderson Pro Am that I'd like to have refinished. I contacted Pat Wilkins about doing a bowling ball who has been doing the bowling balls for Tom since day one. Ive had an original black and white one but also love the look of blue and white. I already have a blue and black one. If I go black and white I'll have to spend another $300+ to replace the chrome hardware with black. If I go blue and white I'm keeping the chrome.

Heres my Pro Am

Which color should I choose?

Here is my blue and black one. I bought it off the original owner who also ordered the blue and white one above and also bought the blue and white one but I wasn't fond of the nut width or frets. I did change all the hardware to black but don't have a recent picture.

I like black and white. My girlie says blue and white. I'd trust her opinion more.

IMO the black and white would match your blue and black better. But that pic of the blue and white sure is pretty.

Yeah I almost bought that blue and white from the same person as my black blue but didn't like the neck specs.

Non sequitir confidence boost:

Pat has refinished 2 or 3 guitars for me and has been AMAZING. Honest, timely, and quality work. You've got a good man working with you. He also has done custom work on a few Sadowsky guitars I ordered including my bowling ball swirl strat and translucent faded pink and he crushed it!

Yeah he's been very responsive to all my emails.

The only thing holding me back on the black and white is swapping the hardware.

Anyone have a nice clean black OFR they'd trade for a chrome one?

I personally like it as is. However, between the two... I'd def go with Black & White!

I've already got a nice black Drop Top.

I had 3 in the late 90's. Black and white, black and green, and black and purple. The black and purple was the coolest one. Wish I kept it. It had a lot to do with how the purple was spread over the black. It was more sporadic than the other 2. Had a lot of just black areas with big globs of purple. I think that looks better than when its evenly applied over the black.

Blue and white. Anything with black needs black hardware IMO. Actually they all look better with black hardware IMO but I understand the extra cost of the swap. The white will go better with chrome.

Value will drop why bother? Just get a fancy strap

Value won't drop. Pat does all the bowling balls for Tom.

I'm not going to be selling anyways. The paint on it now isn't 100% When I bought it I had plans to refinish it since I ready have a black ESP and my black Drop Top.

Do whatever you like best, it is your guitar, your tastes and your money ;)

I'd keep it and leave it as is and try to get a different one in the finish of your choice ;)

I would go black/white if the board is actually as light as it seems in the picture. I think you need a darker board to pull off the blue. I feel like you can get away with any color body with an ebony board, but the light colored rosewood gets tricky.
