Help me out buying a Gibson LP Custom...

Hi, I want to buy a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul, can't decide really if a 57 reissue, a 68 reissue or what. Im looking at European sites specifically Thomman Cyberstore which has amazing prices, which almoast match the US. I really won't be able to test the guitar.

So Has anybody got expirences with newer Gibson Custom's???

say a GIBSON LES PAUL 68 CUSTOM EB VOS?? That is the one im most parcitulary interested.

Im afraid that the neck on the 57 will be huge, is this true? Im not a fan of big baseball bat type necks...

The neck on the 68 Reissue will be bigger than the 57 Reissue, so it depends what size neck you prefer.

Both are cool guitars though!

I've got both and personally love my '57s from my 68's.

It's super personal man, can't really ask us cuz we don't have your hands, style, technique or anything... If you can try, try before you buy. The 68 is a beefier neck no doubt about it. The '57s are classic in their neck design - slightly thinner but to me anyway, faster and more playable. The 68 will hang with sustain for, um, about a month or so with the 57 not far behind. The 68's are replete with what many Gibson enthusiasts consider the best of all worlds - but I'm a 57 lover through and through YMMV.

I do have small hands. I own a 1960 LP classic and a Slash Signature, both guitars have comfortable necks, I really like the Slash profile, don't know if you have tried it.

I thought the 57s had a thicker neck than the 68s.

I really do appreciate a faster more playable neck for sure...

Is that a true '57 reissue? What year? Do you have COA and OHSC for it? I take it those knobs are black/clear tapered witch hats and not straight edged?

If yes to these questions - how much please

I've never really tried a Custom so we'll see... It has Suhr Aldrich pup's and push pull tone knob for single coil tap!!!
