Hey guys,

So I'm in a 3 piece metal band. There are a lot of times I wish there was a second guitar because I love evil sounding parallel harmonies a la Slayer style. Anyway..

I've gone to my LGS & tried some of the harmony type pedals they had. For the most part, they all made the guitar sound more like a synthesizer which is not what I'm after.

Can you guys recommend a pedal that gives a killer harmonizer effect that actually sounds like two angry guitars?

Jeremy, digitech makes one called the harmony man. If u want a pedal it tracks well and is affordable. Still enjoying the new addition?

Thanks Ted, I'll check it out. Though affordability is < killer tone!!

Ok I see it, double size. Ideally I just have one spot left on my pedalboard! Demos on YT do sound really good, though.

I love this little C+ SR, I've done 4 new vids with it this week! Ripping amp!

< unless you fork it out...eventide makes pedals too. Now you have the entire spectrum suggested. Did u slave it into your 2b yet?

I play classic southern rock and i’ve had a harmony man for years now. works well when playing dual leads where the solo guitars are a third or fifth apart. secret is to use it sparingly. it tracks quite fast so there is no lag. quite versatile too. just my .02.

Used Boss HR-2 Harmonist. I used it a lot in the past to play harmonized leads a la Andy LaRocque/King Diamond. Cheap, works very well and sounds quite natural.

Thanks guys. I have exactly one spot left on my pedalboard for a normal size pedal so while the Harmony Man and the Eventide do sound really good in the clips I might look a little harder at the Harmonist.

Oh wait, I think I did demo one of these at the LGS. It's one of the ones that made it sound like a synthesizer, I think. Huh.

Not at all. It sounds right on for 80s harmonized solos. It sounds really convincing in a live mix.

do you have a tuner on your pedalboard? if so, the harmony man has a built in tuner eliminating the need for another one. just a thought.
