I only know of a handful of "half-buckers". How about an SD Hot Rail?

I want a 'bucker for my strat style guitar that has similiar characteristics. Where do I start? I'm pretty sure the Duncan Lil' '59 or JB Jr. wouldn't work. I believe they would both be a too bright and the Lil' '59 most likely has too little output.
This has me thinking that a DiMarzio may work better. Do you agree? If so, which DiMarzio?

I should've pointed out that this is exactly what I want to do. However, the body is routed for three single coils only.![]()

Edit: The Hotrails, as mentioned above, would probably work fairly well, too. I wouldn't recommend the JB Jr. or the Lil 59, though. I wasn't a huge fan of either of those pickups. Dark and meaty is the last thing I'd use to describe them.
Your Super Distortion S is black, right? I really want a white one, but your price is excellent and I may give in to temptation.![]()
