I made a post a few minutes ago about buying a superstrat in the $1800-2500 range, but in case I don't find one that speaks to me, I've also considered adding another used tube amp to my arsenal. What are some good mild to hot Marshall sounding amps that are available right now? The last one I bought was a Morris XS3 or whatever that model is called and didn't get to use it much before I got my old Budda Superdrive back, but I do kinda miss the 1987x I had and sold, even though I wanted something a little hotter.

A real Marshall...add whatever pedal you want. For 2500 or so you should be able to find a 70s 2203/4, and have the real thing which sounds better to me than any clone. Or a good modded Marshall, of course.

Good advice ! If you want something that sounds like a Marshall— buy a Marshall!!

I'm not opposed to having an actual Marshall that someone has hotrodded, but couldn't get a sound I really liked after a while on the Marshall even with a few different drive pedals. Also, I couldn't bring myself to send it out to get modded either.

Someone just sell me a Cornford MK50 so I can be done with it lol

I had one of those and they are awesome. Selling it was a big mistake !
