Hi ! I have a combo mod50 and I have a problem with the loops (serial and parallel)
if I use a pedal in the loop ( T-rex Replica) the sound is bad, there is a small distortion. the module for the test is dlx , canal 1.but the problem is the same on canal 2 and with the second modul !
and if I pull off the pedal ,the sound is great.
can you help me ???
bruno

You are overloading the pedal. You need a Ebtech line shifter to lover the loop level so you don't over loaded it.

Thanks for the answer Jeff ! what is "the Ebtech line shifter" ?
bruno

yes ! I need model LLS-2 I suppose.
thank you.

one question Jeff ! I have a dlx module . is it possible to have dlx on canal 1 and Bassman on canal 2 ?
bruno

If I use another delay instead of my T-rex Replica , I need ebtech line shifter ?
what do you suggest like delay in the loop who avoiding ebtech line shfter ?

Can't speak from experience, but some guys seem to like the Boss DD-20.

No on the Deluxe and Bman in one module. No other experience with delay pedals other than the Eventide stuff.

Another trick is to lower your module masters and raise your main master. By raising your main master on the amp you are lowering the level coming out of the loop.

Brunoi,

You'll thank us later for "upgrading" your delay pedal. I've found that my overall signal sounds MUCH better when running thru +4db line level effects, rather than "squeezing" the signal thru -10db pedal effects.

I don't believe it will sound any better. Try the Parallel loop with the Ebtech and thank me later. Bruce gave me that tip. I have three different units that are line level and none sound as good as my current analog pedals for the loop.

I had the same problem. I much prefer analog effects so I picked up an MXR Carbon Copy delay. I emailed Bruce about this and he says he uses one as well in his Mod 50 loop! Go figure. Warmest, fatest delay I have had to date.

I had the Nova delay and it worked like a champ in the loop because it is Line level(+4)....look in the manual it is easy to adjust.

Now, I use the Ebtech with my Carbon Copy and Reverb pedal to bring the signal down to -10 and then back up to +4 before going back to amp. In the Series loop it causes a volume drop. In the Parallel loop, I hear little to no difference between running the effects in the loop and plugging straight into the amp! :)
So, using the Ebtech with my Reverb and delay has been the best delay tones I have gotten thus far. I did have a Damage Control Glass Nexus but that is digital as was my Rocktron Xpression and didn't do it for me. Both were line level (+4) Plus, I prefer real time, no patches to save.

If I could find a good sounding line level delay pedal and line level reverb or all in one pedal, I'd try it...but I doubt I would like it better than my CC.

so , the best is that I use a ebetch with my pedal isn't it ? or a system rack but I prefer the sound of the pedal !

Use the pedal man or PM me. You can even call me later if you want. I have a rack at home, plus line level pedals. I prefer the Ebtech and my pedals!

ok ! I order a ebetch and I will try it with my pedal.
excuse for my language , I'm French....

Couldn't agree more here either. Get a pedal that can handle line level.

Good for you, you'll be glad you did. I have tried lots of effects both line and instrument but have not been as happy as running the Carbon Copy with the Ebtech. No signal loss at all...nice and strong. Bruce does the same.

Trust me, I tried both. I tried the Boss DD-20, Glass Nexus Damage Control, TC Nova Delay and Rocktron Xpression.

Bruno, I just got done playing around with it again tonight. It works like a champ. I use it in the parallel loop and there is no signal loss...sounds like I am plugged straight in. You might find you have to have the Effects mix on the amp at about 2:00. Seems hig but go by your ears and tweak.

Sorry if this hijacks your thread. What is the impedance of the serial loop's output?

Thanks,

-Chris
