I recently bought a pretty beat up Recto 2x12 cabinet on the cheap with the intent of refurbishing the entire thing (grille cloth, tolex, corners, etc). Anybody have any insight on how to remove the grille cloth from the cab? I couldn't find any screws holding the cloth internally--and I haven't removed the piping to see if its stapled onto the outside.

Also, the Mesa 2x12's are not constructed the same as the 4x12's. An individual over on the boogie board said it was likely being held in by a bunch of screws within the cab like the 4x12's--but this doesn't seem to be the case with the 2x12's. The gap between the piece of ply which is the speakers are mounted to and the actual grill clothe is pretty small (difficult to move a finger inbetween).

I have had so many cabs over the years, but it seems like if my memory serves me correctly, that the grill cloth is stampled to the frame. Isn't that a front load cab? Don't quote me on this, but I think the cloth is stapled on, and then the piping has a flat piece of trim that covers those staples, and that trim is also used as a base to staple the trim on.

If its a recto 2x12, the grille will be held on with heavy duty dual lock discs. The baffle board will be screwed in from the back.
