HELP!!! Thinking of buying a G&L USA S500 RMC

Hi all,

So I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a US made G&L S500. Swamp ash body wood with what is advertised as a flame maple top, but I wonder if it's a real like 1/4 inch thick top or just a veneer. I hate anything on a guitar to give the 'look' but serve no purpose and therefore hate veneer tops on body wood. Anyone know if G&L is using a real top or just a veneer on this guitar? Seems like to good a deal fro this thing at $1650 new. It hits all blocks on my checklist... Strat body, swamp ash, hard rock maple neck, hi-power single coil pickups, and that flame top.... oh I hope it's real!

Not sure but I would rock the HELL out of that! I have a USA made ASAT Classic Bluesboy and it has been my "go to" guitar for the last 2 years.

I would guess it's real. My only experiences with G&L have been awesome USA invaders. I would say it's real but I'm sure the manufacturer can say for certainty
