Hi Guys,

Just looking for a bit of help I think!!

This is my first rig and ive had a bit of a play with what ive got and I know im missing out on a lot with this rig so figured id come to the best place :)

My rig consists of a DTR1 Tuner > Lexicon MPX G2 > Marshall JMP1 > Marshall Power amp.

Ive got the R1 for controlling the Lexicon, but Im wondering if theres a way to control the JMP through it too? ie, If I want to make a preset and have the JMP on OD2?? I know I can connect them through the midi out/in but am unsure of how to allocate it to each other.

Also, does anyone know of any sites with some helpful G2 tips? I unfortunately don't get as much time as id like to experiment so am just trying to get to grips with it really

Any help is MUCH appreciated :)

You should be able to set the R1 to control the JMP1 on a different MIDI channel. If you have the setup hooked up like this: Guitar>Tuner>MPX G2 analog part>JMP1>MPX G2 FX part>Power amp, then I'd hook MIDI up the same way, with the G2 as the first device on, say, MIDI ch 1 and then form its MIDI thru port to JMP1 on ch 2. The R1 should be able to send program changes on different MIDI channels, just set it to control the two devices on the respective channels and you should be home.

Hope this helps

This.

You need to set the R1 up in "setup" mode, I believe. It can be a little tedious at first, getting all the presets set up like you want, but once it's done the MPXG2/R1 combo is really powerful.

I'll hopefully get some time to have a play with it this weekend.

Can I link the midi ports from the g2 to the jmp1 or does it need to be from the r1 to the jmp?

I'll have another read of the manual! Haha

Thanks for the replys guys

I'd go R1 -> G2 -> JMP. That should allow you to use the tuner functions of the R1, provided you have the 7 pin MIDI cable, which IMO, is the way to go.

Ive got the long 7 pin I think! Will have to check but sure I've seen it

I've got a korg dtr1 for a tuner but it's handy for the bypass
