I bought a midi switching box with the intention of using it to control the channel switching of my Jet City JCA100H. The switch is simple, a latched open/closed mono jack. However the midi switcher causes a buzz when closing the switch and activating channel 1 (Normal). When the switch is open (Channel 2/Overdrive) there's no buzz.

I tried the switcher on my Marshall head and it works fine, (though that is a momentary switch not latched).

What could be the cause of the buzzing through the amp and is there a fix? As it stands I have no way to know if the Jet City will work with ANY midi channel switcher, not just this one.

Gotta be a ground loop issue. I've had good results with these,

Yeah well could be. I have an ART clean box here somewhere, will give it a try. Don't think it'll work on the switching cable though as its an isolation tranny, would have to go on the signal path somewhere.
