I thought they both sounded good. The only way anybody would ever tell the difference would be the way you presented them...live or lower in a recording mix and the difference would be insignificant.

With the backing track you can hardly notice the difference at all. Very impressive piece of technology and still the leader in my opinion. I have no interest in an Axe but i would def play one of these.

Sounds fabulous! I ordered a Matrix GT1000 FX 2u power amp today... I can't wait to try the KPA rack into my cabs. :)
Yeah, jury is still out for me on power amp and cabs, but for recording. Wow...

Honestly, they both sound great. I am back in a cover band and they are really picky about tones. My Splawn and pedalboard cover all the ground but I think they really want me to be able to dial in the tone for each song. May need the Kemper at some point.

They both sound great! Well done! The Kemper makes a great case for recording, no question! I had one and liked it for that reason as well as the profiling.

I still prefer the mic'd version but with tweaking, I don't think one would be able to tell.

Have you tried any of the preamp only profiles ,they just released . It looks like Kemper is the first one that is testing the waters with preamp models only for the guys that like the tube power amps

I definitely hear a difference, but as I said, if I'd made any effort at all to make the signal chain the same (particularly inserting my Great Rivers pre that was used when I recorded the actual amp), I could make 'em pretty much identical...
