What type of cable should be used when hooking the Herbert compensated out to a recorder (Boss BR-600 in this case)-I . I was hoping to try some silent recording at night when my 5 month old daughter is asleep, even if the sound quality isn't as good as micing a cab. The Boss does have speaker sims, so once I get the signal to it safely, I'll be ok, but I've never recorded direct into it, so was concerned with possibly damaging something by using the wrong type cable.

A standard unbalanced .25" guitar cable. You won't get the sound fidelity (using the CO) that you would if you record the loud speaker directly, but the CO is an alternative.

Thanks, that what I was thinking and hoping. I tried it and it wasn't bad at all, even without the power section. The fidelity isn't as good as it is mic'ing the cab, like you said, but it does make for a nice, QUIET, alternative, and still sounds much better than the amp sims on my Boss GT8.
