Just changed my Herberts Powertubes from EL34 BHT to KT77 JJ (recommended by Peter).
Used it for a rehearsal at high volumes
and im heavily impressed by the way the sound improved, even the bass-player
noticed a change

IMO the amp sounds bigger. More but still very tight lows, very nice highs too and the fat midrange is still there.
Had no problem of cuttin through the mix/noise
