Herbert preamp tubes

When I first bought my Herbert it came with 9th gen Chinese in the preamp, but they'd apparently been in for awhile, because I started getting microphonics. I swapped em out for JJ 12ax7's (all i could find besides Mesa in my area :doh:) but I absolutely hate them, super fizzy and muddy too. :thumbsdown: I'm looking to retube my preamp again, but I'm not sure what tubes to go with. I've heard great things about the Tung-sol reissues, but I'd like some input as to what you guys are running for pre's in your Herberts. Any help is greatly appreciated!
