Anyone else using the Herbert with the mid-cut off for high gain stuff? I noticed Billy Corgan started doing that on their 2011 tour so i tried it at practice. The amp seems to have a lot more bloom and cuts like a knife now. Love it.
Maybe it's the KT88s i have installed.

Hi,
I`m using that also in this way with the EL 34 BHT. I`m loving it.

Cheers

I prefer it with the midcut off as well. It's not because the amp has the function you're obligated to use it all the time.

at low volumes i use the midcut with a low sensetivity but at band volumes i use it without

i always ran my Herbert with the MidCut off. except when i wanted a lil color...then i would use it...with it barely turned on...did something cool to the amp!

At Home: Mid cut function engaged...Always.

With Band: Mid cut funtion not engaged...Always.

It depends on the song we play. And sometimes I have to turn it on. But the sensivity is only turned to 10.
It´s funny how the voicing changes in the band mix. When you play it alone it sounds huge with midcut on. When the band starts I loose the bass (of course some mids) but i get little more treble. I use it for our Scorpions songs and most of our classic rock and 80´s metal.
But when we play heavy I leave it off.
