Just realized that our handy digital camera also records like 30-50 seconds of digital video/audio. Made a clip tonight as a test. I don't have a good playback system handy, so I'm not 100% how the amp sounds with the crappy little camera mic, but it seems KINDA okay.

Thoughts?

Chris

Yup! Sounds like a PeaceMaker to me! Nice...

Sounds bad ass. I've always liked the clips I've heard of the Peacemaker, but I also heard that it needs to be brutally loud to get "the tone"...is that true?

I'm listening to it now on this laptop (using the built-in speakers) and man, it does sound badass to me. Does it not sound like a "perfect" plexi tone?

Chris

Yes, correct.

Oh man, that sucked so bad...

I'll take it off your hands for $500. OK, I'll take the amp and $400...

:D

Seriously though, it sounded pretty good. I'm amazed at how good digital cameras are getting w/ regards to their built in mic's.

 i've never been able to watch google videos for some reason on this computer? guess need to see what i've got turned off in the control?

I'd say the Peacemaker is in the very top of the "hot-plexi" styled amps. Sounds huge even thru a video camera mic and computer speakers. Doesn't help cure my GAS for a PM someday.

Sounds killer... I used to own a Scorpion and loved the tone of the amp but disliked the fact that you really have to dime it to make it happen, Even with the power damping it just didn't work for me. I actually live about an hour form Apple valley and had a chance to visit Victors shop a few years back. I brought my amp with me and sat down with Victor and Craig his tech and watched how he scoped the 12Ax7 tube that part of the power damping function. He went through 5-6 tubes before he found one that had the right shape on the scope. I was really surprised at how It made such a difference in the way it performed. He checked out the rest of the amp changed a few other things, gave it a clean bill of health and I was good to go and he did it all for Free  . I played through all the amps The Peacemaker, Scorpion, Plexi 45 and the Sidewinder were all very cool amps but in the end I liked the Coyote combo with the Alnico Blues. To me that was the best all around amp IMO and with a few pedals in front of it would have quite a bit of versatilely. I plan on putting one in my stable as soon as funds allow it. The build quality on these amp are truly 2nd to none. Vic has so over built these amps that I doubt you could blow it up through normal use. Again congrats on your new monster

Sounds very good Chris, especially for a video camera mic.

I see you agree with me on the power dampening

sounds great to me

so you ditching the VHT stuff? man, I have a hard time keeping up with you.
