First, sorry no clips. I'm in the process of revamping the way I record. Besides, my clips suck anyway.

Anyway, I decided to put the G12M speakers in the Legacy 4X12 cab after all. My intention was to use this combination with the EVH 5150 III, however, it's going to be at the techs for about a week. I decided to see how the Legacy cab newly loaded with the G12Ms sounded in comparison to the Bogner 4X12 loaded with V30s. I used the Bogner XTC 101b and one of my LPs.

Completely different animals to me. The Bog cab has more bottom, highs and bite...great for heavier sounds...more strident. The Legacy is much more musical and chewy...nice break up and great for an Andy Timmons type of tone. I dig both cabs for their differences.

I'm Really looking forward to hearing how the EVH 5150 III sounds with the Legacy cab. I thougt it sounded a little harsh with the Bog/V30s.

I'd really like to hear your thoughts on the Heritage G12Ms in a rear loaded cab with a grillcloth. I find the grillcloth seems to tame some highs and I seem to prefer rear loaded cabs in general. My old Legacy cab always sounded OK, but I prefered my rear loaded cabs more.

You found your 5150III sounded a little harsh with the Bogner? Mine doesn't sound that way to me with my V30 Bogner cab. I can't wait to hear what you think of it with the GBs as I'm contemplating getting a GB cab (although I probably can't afford the Heritage :( ) Any word back from Bob on the amp?

Response: I tend to agree with you about rear loaded cabs sounding better than front loaded. I think the rear loaded cabs sound a little bigger and more even in regards to tone. I also agree that the grill cloth may temper the highs a bit.

Response: Yeah, I did find the 5150III a little harsh...I'm guessing that's because I'm so used to the sound of the XTC. :D I'm really dig'n the G12Ms and I think they'll work great with the 5150III. I'm not sure what a GB cab will sound like without Greenbacks in it...save your bucks, do it right and get both. :D Bob told me it would there would be a week turnaround time to get the 5150III back...can't wait to hear it with the GB12Ms.

I guess everything sounds a little harsh compared to the XTC, which is SO darn smooth, LOL. I guess it's all in your frame of reference, as compared to my previous amps the 5150III doesn't sound harsh at all, maybe all my previous amps were just MORE harsh sounding!! In any event, I'm LOVING the 5150III. I'm sure Bob will take care of it and can't wait to hear you thoughts of it through the GBs.

Yeah, kinda funny actually. I'm looking for something that's not as "polite" as the XTC but then I compare it to the XTC and think it's too harsh.  I'm stuck in a loop.
