Hi guys!

It's been a while since I posted any clips on RT so it's about time I share one of my recent amp builds with you.

This is what it looked like when I received it:

The amp has two footswitchable channels, a footswitchable compression/gain boost function and a tube buffered effects loop.

Here’s a list of controls this amp holds:

Channel 1 has the following controls:
• Gain
• Volume
• Treble
• Middle
• Bass
• Three-way-voice-switch (bright/normal/dark)

Channel 2 has the following controls:
• Gain
• Volume
• Treble
• Middle
• Bass
• Tightness control with a three-way-switch for three different sweeps (loudness/tightness/tilt)
• Three-way-mid-boost-switch (high mid/off/low mid)
• Three-way-voice-switch (bright/normal/dark).

The power amp section has the following controls:
• Master volume
• Presence with a three-way-switch for three different frequency ranges
• Punch with a three-way-switch for three different frequency ranges
• Deep with a three-way-switch for three different frequency ranges

I've developed a new kind of gain boost for this amp which I call "Compression".
It's tube stage which works as a fast-tracking compressor (super-fast attack and release times).
It's dynamic to your playing and compresses the transients and hard strumming which makes single note playing more fluid and juicy.
It also gives an extra kick in the low mids, smoothes out the high end along with a gain boost which makes it perfect for solos.

Here you can see how the compression circuit reacts to my playing! You can see how the voltage drops on my oscilloscope
and you can see the actual voltage on my Fluke bench meter while I’m playing:

Here are four clips with different guitars and styles. I'm using a TC G-major 2 in the loop
for some delays and playing through a Malmberg 4x12 cab with old Greenbacks.
It's recorded with a Tascam DR-40 with a Golden Age R1 ribbon mic connected to it. No post eq's or compression.

Fender Stratocaster straight into the amp, I have the gain set to 2/10 on Channel 1 and activate the
Compression sometimes (you can see a red LED light up when the Compression is activated).

Greco EGF 1000 straight into the amp, I have the gain set to 5/10 on Channel 1 and I activate the
Compression sometimes (you can see a red LED light up when the Compression is activated).

Hagström Swede straight into the amp on Channel 2, I activate the
Compression sometimes (you can see a red LED light up when the Compression is activated).

Hagström Swede (downtuned) straight into the amp, both channels.

This is probably my favourite clip of yours yet, its so so tight. Sounds amazing, I am a huge fan of your work

I always dig your amps. Need to play one, so I can be sure I love it as much as I THINK I do.

:worship:

It’s incredible that the strat clip and the hagstrom clips come from the same amp. Such range and it does high gain and tasty clipped cleans equally as well. This is art.

Another stellar sounding amp. Clean to mean...it’s all there and done extremely well. You have killer chops too.

amazing as usual! I will have one of your amps someday!

Absolutely stellar tones. An amp that tight shouldn’t sound that thick and fat. Excellent work! I love your playing too.

That sounds absolutely phenomenal! Need to get one of your amps.

^^ Agreed.. has that perfect dna of grease, grind, punch and depth. LOVE the tones he gets out of his amps.. the PA's specifically.

Big THANKS for all your kind words! So happy to hear you like my work! :)

Dude!!!!
Prob one of the best clips I’ve heard here, and that’s hits the statement!!!
Incredible harmonic content

Woahhhh. Amazing sounding amp. Props is an understatement.

Dude, that high gain clip with the Hagstrom is unreal. Great, great work here.

When will you have a production model?

I’ve been working on it for four years now. It seems to take a lot of time since I don’t want to cut any corners. I’ve been searching and bought over ten cubic meters of new old stock components from the 60s and 70s! The custom made transformers are finished, the MIDI system is finished. At the moment I’m rewriting the layout since I will use this new compression circuit instead of my old gain boost circuitry. I will start with the flagship model with four channels.

I will let you guys know when I have the prototype up and running and post some clips!

Again, thank you for all the cheering!
