So I have not had my VH4 for very long at all and I am still getting the ideal of how the settings work. The tone I am trying to achieve currently is like a mix of Dir en grey tool korn and deftones. I do like my current settings, but I think maybe I feel that something is missing from my mix haha, though this could just be me over thinking a lot of things and I am in no way saying something is missing from my amp, but I am saying that maybe someone can better help me to tweak and adjust my settings haha.

Here is my gear:

1 Diezel VH4
1 4x12 VHT Fatbottom cabinet with P50E speakers
Currently no effects (yet)
1 ESP LTD Viper with 2 seymour duncan passives (Jazz neck JB bridge)
1 Fender stratocaster with stock passives
1 Les Paul goldtop with mini humbuckers (original with p90's but Les Paul himself had them switched out a looonnnggg time ago.)

I am using mogami cables (if that matters?)

Here are my settings on all channels and the power section. Note that the volume knobs are always changing for me because of the places I play.

So if you have any suggestions as to what to adjust please do let me know and I will let you know if it sounds good!

Sorry for really bad phone pictures haha.

Oh! I have actually read the VH4 settings manual on the Diezel website!

well, it all depends man..... what I like to do is set the controls to noon and just listen.....play like that for a while (5 or 10 minutes and once your ears get accustomed to it you'll start to hear what's missing....... if it needs more sparkle or more mids or less bottom end, etc etc..... and twist the knobs accordingly and little by little...... don't do it drastically

I turn up ALL my channel volumes MUCh higher than you.
ch1 - at 2pm - GAin is set at 9pm
ch2 - is a 3 pm gain is set at 5pm
ch3 - at 4pm gain is set at 2 pm
ch4 - at 4.5 pm gain is set at 4 pm ( i use this channel for leads so it needs to be louder and creamier that 3)(which is what it does!)

Almost all my eqs are pretty flat, a little extra treble on chn 3
a little mid cut on channel 4
your master volume should be higher than where the picture is showing it.

not sure why you are cutting SO much bass, noon is where those need to be at.

Oh my channel and master volumes are low because it is in my apartment right now and my room mate sleeps all day. Maybe that's what it is missing... The bass? I will definitely try that out when I get home!

oh well then that's your answer man, you're lacking volume and Dynamics..... don't get me wrong, diezels sound GREAT at low volume but like you said, something's MISSING (as with any other tube amp) when the volume's too low.

Rezza, the Bass thing depends a lot on the room..... if there's too much reflexion the room will be too bass heavy. it happens to me in mystudio (it's a 4x4meter) and it's great for mixing and such but when you rEALLY crank the amps you get too many bass freq jumping around.

Oh! You know I totally understand that, why it did not occur to me? I don't know.
Tomorrow I am going to band practice and I will be able to crank it and set it up haha!

Should I push my bass up a little at the least haha?

with the band....start with mids/treble/bass at noon and just tweak to taste.
