And are some of those things in the scrap pile carpet knives? it looks like they have blades. if they are, they are the coolest carpet knives I've seen ;)

Are you making those on a CNC milling machine Bob ? As a hobby ?

Thought you were in the IT business ?

Giga

Yep, I've got a 3 head CNC router with a 4'x8' usable space table (machine is effectively 10.5'x6.5'). I am in IT... just tend to be a bit OCD about my "hobbies."

I think what you're seeing are tap handles for beer kegs. Only some of them have the ferrule installed which is the shiny part you're seeing. I'll post some close ups of some handles I've made a little later.

Here's a handle I made using quarter sawn Cherry and Birdseye Maple for the case. Both are stained "vintage cherry."

I know it's not what you want, so into the scrap pile they go but first, a picture of the badge on amp, as promised (in Birch).

Mr. Savage, you're truly an artist.

The case and handle are both beautiful! What do you use to carve them?

Thanks Zach. The basic workflow is CAD/CAM application for design, setup and run job on CNC, hand sanding/scraping and then lacquer.

nice work man - that's a really cool logo for Surreal. Even if it wasn't done out of wood, that would look cool as a metal badge on the amp.

yep.... bob Ill prob call on the weekend or friday. Weve been swamped with drug dudes.

Thanks Darren!

maybe we could talk about a couple head boxes/

Sure, let's talk. With hardwood cabinets we could do the Surreal badge using an inlay in the front panel.

I sent off a check to Neil so I should have a logo for you to gander at and see if you can make something for me. Cool guy Neil. Thanks for the contact.

Very cool! I'll get in touch with Neal to get a vector based copy. Let's talk about what you're looking for and we'll get the ball rolling.
