I put a Hipshot Stainless Steel Bridget on my Schecter PT Standard (string through) and it's noticably more jangly and bright. I don't mind it on the lower bass strings, but on the E-B-G strings, it's really cutting and bright with my setup (Splawn Pro Stock/Creamback H75s).

I use the tone knob, but by the time I get relief from it, it's that muddy sound. So, I've looked at adding good brass saddles for E-B-G and even the Graphtech regular Graphite Saddles.

Anyone have a similar experience and fix?

Thanks!

Brass is the next step warmer compared to steel and graphtech the warmest option of the three.

Yeah they have the Jerry Donahue bridge that has brass for the B-E string. Does;t solve the G issue though.

Thanks, guys! I lean toward brass but not sure that will make enough of a difference. Have heard the Graphtech graphite saddles kill sustain.

Try a .033uf or .047uf cap for your tone pot if brass doesn't work and you don't want to go graphtech. I put graphtech saddles on my les paul and noticed no change in the sustain or resonance at all. The guitar is less bright though which was a plus.
