Hi,

I just recieved my (in November 2013) preordered BE 100. Everything is very fine, but the presence knob gives a noise (dark hiss), when you turn it (like you can have it on potentiometers of old amps, which are dirty and need to be cleaned). Cause it is a brandnew amp, I guess, the potentiometer isn't working properly.

I want to have it fixed and would send the amp to Musik Produktiv, from where I bought it.
Is it important to have exactly the same potentiometer, which Dave uses to build the amp, or would any potentiometer do it? I just want to keep the sound of the amp exactly how it is. Is it possible to have one of these potis sent from Racksytems to the tech, who will do the job?

Sorry for this maybe foolish question, but I have no experience in that technical subjects.

thanks

Bought mine from there and mine also does this, not really fussed as it sounds huge!

I have had a couple BE100's and they both did it as does my Cameron. Something in the design must drive it...Wouldn't worry about it.

This is normal and it should state that in the maual. It's the same circuit as a vintage Marshall. This is the best sounding circuit to use. To change it will change the tone.

Thanks to everyone for the answers!
So I'm fine with it like it is!

(PS: Does it mean on the other hand, that a BE with no hiss on the presence knob doesn't sound as good? :D Sorry, just joking!)

Just forgot to mention:
I couldn't read the printed manual, cause there was none in the box. The manual on the friedmanamplification website doesn't show it.
I was informed, that this definately is stated in the printed manual, so once again thanks for making this clear!
