So I popped open my favorite sounding tubescreamer to discover it had an LM833 op amp, my other tubescreamer's have the correct JRC4558D chip for 808 specs. But the JRC4558D sounds more fizzy and more harsh than the LM833 - hmmm... So I popped in some different op amps into my BYOC tubescreamer, I found I like the JRC4558D least - I must be wierd, everyone else loves the JRC4558D!
So then I'm recording this part for my instrumental cd and there is a knock on my door (recording at my rehearsal space) and it's my neighbor (these guys have cool gear - Wizard and Clark amps, nice old Les Paul's, ZVex fx) and he goes - come over and check out my new pedal. Turns out it's the Eternity Lovepedal. So he lets me play his vintage sg through his Wizard showing me what the pedal does - and it sounds great. He tells me, borrow it until Monday - well, this thing sounds GREAT through my plexi - kinda tubescreamerish, but a litte more "musical" for lack of a better term. I'm trying to decide if it sounds $279 better than my tubescreamer
